Santa Fe Province Pays $204.9 bn of Debt, Plans $157.5 bn More by Year‑End

Argentina’s Santa Fe province announced that, in the first two years and four months of Governor Maximiliano Pullaro’s administration, it has cancelled debt obligations worth a total of $204.878 billion. The payments include $35.796 billion in 2024, $158.344 billion in 2025 and $10.462 billion during the first four months of 2026.

The province expects to meet an additional $157.480 billion of maturities before the end of the year. Of the amounts already paid, $28.964 billion went to national financial entities and $175.914 billion to international lenders and public‑debt holders, such as the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter‑American Development Bank, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development and the Abu Dhabi Fund.

Finance Minister Pablo Olivares highlighted that Santa Fe, together with the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, is among the few Argentine jurisdictions that have never resorted to debt restructuring. He said the sustained fiscal discipline strengthens confidence among multilateral institutions, investors and markets, and that the repayments have not affected the provision of public services or the execution of strategic projects.
