Santa Fe unveils World‑Class athletics track for 2026 South American Games

The Centro de Alto Rendimiento Deportivo (CARD) in Santa Fe, Argentina, will host the athletics competitions of the 2026 South American Games from 22 to 25 September. A new synthetic Class 1 track, homologated by World Athletics, was installed after a 4 billion‑peso investment, matching the surface used at the Paris Olympic Games.

The upgraded venue is part of a broader Games programme that will run across Santa Fe, Rosario and Rafaela, featuring more than 4 000 athletes from 15 countries competing in 43 sports and 60 disciplines. Paloma Feito, a local hurdler and Games ambassador, said the facility will leave a lasting legacy for Argentine athletics, allowing future generations to train and compete at an international standard.
