Faro Santander opens in Spain with major art collections

Faro Santander has officially opened in the historic Edificio Pereda in Santander, Spain. The new cultural center, designed by architect David Chipperfield, serves as a public showcase for the Banco Santander Foundation's extensive art collections.

The center features three primary exhibition nuclei: a display of masterpieces from the Banco Santander Collection spanning five centuries, a presentation of Mexican Modern art from the Gelman Collection—including works by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera—and an exhibition focused on the surrealist works of Leonora Carrington.

Other regional cultural updates include the resumption of free autumn guided tours at the MUSAC in León, the launch of a new educational program for regional museums in Murcia, and the exhibition ‘El humo del progreso’ regarding maritime heritage in Fuerteventura.
