Santander launches Navigator Global to boost Spanish SMEs' overseas investment
Spain’s post‑pandemic business investment has shifted toward intangible assets such as R&D, software and intellectual property, with services accounting for nearly two‑thirds of total investment. In 2024, industry and non‑financial services investment reached €120.8 billion, 41.9 % higher than in 2019, after a rebound following the COVID‑19 downturn.
Banco Santander, which financed €25.4 billion for 190,000 Spanish companies abroad in 2025, has introduced the Navigator Global digital platform. The tool offers market intelligence, entry‑strategy planning and local‑expert connections for SMEs targeting markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Latin America and other EU regions. It highlights sectors with strong export potential—including renewable energy, automotive, agri‑food and technology—and cites the United States as Spain’s top investment destination, with a €97.247 billion stock and 143,500 jobs created by Spanish firms across 45 states.
