Sant’Anna di Vinadio: Missing woman found alive after five days

A 70-year-old woman has been found alive after being missing for five days in the mountains near Sant’Anna di Vinadio, in the Cuneo province of Italy. She had disappeared on September 7 while on an excursion near the Sant’Anna lakes.

Following an extensive search operation involving the Piedmontese Alpine and Speleological Rescue, the Guardia di Finanza, Firefighters, Carabinieri, and specialized units using helicopters, drones, and canine teams, she was located on a slope between Passo di Tesina and Bagni di Vinadio.

The woman was found conscious but suffering from hypothermia due to spending several nights exposed to the elements. She was stabilized on-site by the Azienda Zero Piemonte regional emergency service and subsequently transported by helicopter to a hospital in Cuneo for treatment. Her condition is reported as stable.
