Santiago del Estero Governor announces 2027-2028 investment plan

Santiago del Estero Governor Elías Suárez has presented a strategic investment and public works program for 2027 and part of 2028. The plan, announced during a meeting of the Economic and Social Council, focuses on infrastructure, housing, and industrial development to stimulate economic activity and job creation.

Key components of the plan include the construction of 3,500 housing units, consisting of 2,000 social housing modules for vulnerable families and 1,500 IPVU-type homes funded by provincial resources. The infrastructure agenda includes the development of approximately 1,430 kilometers of secondary and tertiary roads and water works projected to provide potable water to 72,400 people.

To support the productive sector, the government intends to expand the number of Territorial Development Agencies from 12 to 19 to assist over 9,000 family producers. The governor also announced plans to modify the Industrial Promotion Law to encourage the processing of raw materials and increase value-added production. Additional measures include renewable energy projects, educational expansions such as new 3-year-old classrooms and technological nodes, and the continued implementation of the ‘Santiago Crece con Vos’ program.
