Santiago del Estero launches education and environmental initiatives
In Santiago del Estero, Argentina, several regional initiatives have been launched focusing on education and environmental preservation.
The Diocesan Board of Catholic Education of Santiago del Estero (JUDECSE), in collaboration with the National Socio-emotional Skills Program (HASE), conducted a training session for school representatives from the Archdiocese of Santiago del Estero and the Diocese of Añatuya. Held at the Nodo Tecnológico, the program aimed to strengthen interpersonal and intrapersonal competencies to support integral student development.
Simultaneously, the provincial government signed a technical cooperation agreement with the College of Graduates in Forest Sciences. This partnership seeks to enhance state capacity for the sustainable management and restoration of forest ecosystems. Key components of the agreement include identifying degraded areas, launching a pilot forest restoration project, and streamlining administrative processes for the voluntary restoration of illegally deforested lands. Additionally, the initiative will establish a Provincial Nursery Registry to regulate and promote the production of native plants for reforestation efforts.
