Santiago do Cacém invests 386,000 euros in local sports

The Municipality of Santiago do Cacém has announced an investment of 386,000 euros to support local sports for the 2026/27 season. This financial commitment was formalized through a protocol titled ‘Apoio Financeiro ao Movimento Associativo Desportivo’ (Financial Support to the Sports Associative Movement), signed with thirty local collectives on October 14.

Mayor Bruno Gonçalves Pereira stated that the funds allocated to these associations have been increased and the distribution adjusted to ensure comprehensive support. The initiative aims to promote sports development, ensure the continuity of local activities, and strengthen community ties within the municipality. Beneficiaries include various groups such as the Associação Cultural, Recreativa e Religiosa de Santo André Aldeia, the Associação de Patinagem do Litoral Alentejano, and the Atlético Basquete Clube de Santo André, among others.
