Santiago man killed during dispute over garden plants

A 54-year-old man, identified as Juan de Jesús Adames Rodríguez, died following a violent altercation in the Yagüita del Pastor sector of Santiago, Dominican Republic. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute regarding the cutting of trees and flowers at a residence.

According to preliminary investigations by the National Police, the confrontation involved Agripino Solís de la Rosa, who is the alleged perpetrator and currently a fugitive. Reports indicate that during the fight, the victim was struck with a wooden stick before being wounded with a machete.

Family members provided a different perspective, suggesting the conflict may have originated from a separate dispute involving a woman known to the victim. They also noted that a youth had allegedly thrown a stone at Adames Rodríguez the previous night, which may have prompted him to confront the suspect the following morning.

Forensic technicians collected a bloodstained stick approximately 105 centimeters long from the scene. The victim's body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for autopsy. Authorities are actively searching for Solís de la Rosa and are processing an arrest warrant.
