Santiago police investigate two separate fatal violent incidents

Authorities in Santiago, Dominican Republic, are investigating two separate violent incidents involving fatalities.

In the community of La Jagua Abajo, Jánico, 32-year-old Lleny Altagracia Rodríguez was found dead with signs of violence. Two Haitian nationals, identified as Papito Jean, 37, and Manyimbe Pierre, 20, were detained by residents and remain in police custody. The National Police and the Public Ministry are coordinating the investigation, and the body has been sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for autopsy.

In a separate incident in the Los Salados sector of Santiago, 17-year-old Fadlin Charles was shot and killed while traveling on a motorcycle. Preliminary investigations suggest the homicide may be linked to gang disputes between the “Los Trinitarios” and “Mawi” groups. Military and police forces were deployed during the funeral to maintain order amid local tension. Investigators are currently analyzing surveillance footage and interviewing witnesses to identify the perpetrators.
