Santo Domingo Este authorities investigate suspected feminicide and suicide

Authorities in Santo Domingo Este are investigating a suspected feminicide followed by suicide in the Hainamosa sector. The incident involved 37-year-old Ramonita Aquino Aquino and 50-year-old Jesús Jáquez Mora, who was identified as her partner or ex-partner.

According to family members, Jáquez Mora had been undergoing treatment for mental health issues and had been hospitalized on several occasions. His sister, Dominga Jáquez, reported that in the days leading up to the event, he had expressed violent thoughts and distress regarding his separation from his wife. Despite family efforts to provide support and dissuade him from harmful thoughts, the situation escalated into violence.

The tragedy has left two teenagers, aged 14 and 16, without parents. Experts note that such cases often involve patterns of control and psychological instability during separation processes.
