Suspect arrested in Santo Domingo Este teenage murder

Overview

In Santo Domingo Este, authorities are investigating the murder of a teenager, identified in recent reports as Zaidy Fragoso Lizardo. Her body was discovered near the Mella highway in the Alma Rosa sector.

Following the discovery, the National Police arrested a 40-year-old man, Luis Miguel Santiago Guzmán, in connection with the death. Forensic examinations determined the cause of death was hypovolemic shock resulting from wounds sustained.

During the investigation, homicide detectives and forensic technicians recovered clothing from the suspect that appeared to have bloodstains. Additionally, a screwdriver was recovered from a white Mazda Demio vehicle that was linked to the suspect through surveillance footage.

The National Police are continuing their investigation in coordination with the Public Ministry to establish the motive and exact circumstances of the crime. The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the authorities for legal proceedings.
