Santo Tomé police seize weapons following local robberies
Police in Santo Tomé, Corrientes, are investigating a series of recent robberies, including a significant theft at a Rapipago payment center. In the central district, criminals stole approximately five million pesos from the establishment, which is located only 20 meters from a local police station. Security camera footage of the incident has been collected as part of the investigation.
Following these events, authorities executed a judicial search warrant in a residential property with support from the Tactical Operations Group (G.T.O.). During the raid, officers seized a homemade firearm (known as a ‘tumbera’) capable of firing .22 caliber cartridges, a large knife, a backpack, and a Redmi mobile phone. These items were recovered in connection with a recent armed robbery of a local business and have been placed under the custody of the investigating fiscal unit.
