Santo Tomás de Villanueva parish celebrates 70th anniversary

The Santo Tomás de Villanueva parish is holding a series of commemorative events to celebrate its 70th anniversary and the 540th anniversary of the birth of Saint Thomas of Villanova.

Key activities include a mass on October 3 featuring the Lux Aeterna Polyphonic Choir. During this service, the choir director, Antonio Javier Rodrigo, will perform using a restored harmonium. The instrument, originally manufactured by Casa Cotrina in Vitoria and donated in 1960, had previously fallen into disrepair but has been rehabilitated with a new keyboard and speaker.

Further celebrations will take place from October 2 to October 10, featuring a novena, a vigil of adoration, and a solemn Eucharist on October 10. The final feast day mass will be presided over by Arturo Javier García Pérez, Auxiliary Bishop of Valencia, who will also administer the Sacrament of Confirmation to local youth.
