Santo Tomás de Villanueva Parish celebrates dual anniversaries in Tomelloso

The Santo Tomás de Villanueva Parish in Tomelloso is celebrating a dual anniversary: 70 years since its creation and 50 years since the inauguration of its current temple in 1976.

To commemorate these milestones, a photographic exhibition is being held at La Posada de Los Portales from October 6 to 18. The exhibition features community-contributed images documenting seven decades of local history, including weddings, baptisms, spiritual retreats, and various parish activities. It also highlights the parish's early years when it operated out of the chapel of the Hermanitas de los Ancianos Desamparados. Historical documents, such as sacramental books from 1956, are also part of the display.

The anniversary program includes several events throughout October, such as musical performances by the Coro Lux Aeterna, a lecture on Saint Thomas of Villanova, a mass for the sick, and a children's drawing contest.
