Santorini drug ring busted, five arrested
Greek police uncovered a drug‑trafficking network on the island of Santorini, leading to the arrest of five individuals. The suspects included three foreign nationals aged 19, 21 and 25, and two Greek citizens aged 19 and 20.
Authorities seized more than one kilogram of raw cannabis, a quantity of cocaine, cash totaling €717, a knife, two vehicles, mobile phones and a precision scale. The investigation began after a 25‑year‑old foreigner was hospitalized with a knife wound on the night of 1 August, an incident linked to a dispute over drug sales. The detainees face charges of possession and trafficking of narcotics, participation in a clash, illegal weapon possession, illegal stay in Greece, forgery and false statements. The pre‑trial investigation remains ongoing.
