Santorini tourism faces complaints over high restaurant prices

British tourists in Santorini have raised complaints regarding high prices and unexpected charges at local restaurants and bars. An investigation highlighted instances where simple meals and drinks reached significant costs, such as an 81 euro bill for three prawns, two coffees, and a plate of fava near Fira.

In one reported incident, a restaurant with a low TripAdvisor rating initially refused card payments, insisting on cash and requesting a 20 euro tip. Another traveler reported being charged 28 euros for an instant coffee and a piece of cake. Staff defended the pricing by citing the value of the views provided by the establishments.
