Santos traffic authorities reinforce safety rules for cyclists and electric scooters

In Santos, the Traffic Engineering Company (CET-Santos) conducted a traffic awareness blitz to reinforce safety rules and speed limits for self-propelled vehicles and cyclists. The initiative, held near the Novo Quebra-Mar in the José Menino neighborhood, aimed to promote peaceful coexistence and reduce accidents on city bike lanes and streets.

During the action, officials distributed educational materials emphasizing that cyclists must follow traffic signals and yield to pedestrians. For self-propelled devices like electric scooters, agents highlighted a maximum speed limit of 20 km/h on dedicated tracks and prohibited riding with passengers if the device lacks factory-installed seats.
