Sara Kolak returns to Croatia after winning European javelin gold

Croatian javelin thrower Sara Kolak has returned to Zagreb following her gold medal victory at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. The 31-year-old secured the title with a first-series throw of 62.43 meters.

This victory marks a significant milestone for Kolak, occurring ten years after her Olympic gold medal win in Rio de Janeiro. Reflecting on her achievement, she expressed immense pride and gratitude for the support received, noting that the medal serves as a reward for her perseverance through both good and difficult times over the last decade.

Kolak highlighted the importance of her supporters in Ludbreg, describing them as her biggest fans. Her upcoming schedule includes competing in the Diamond League in Lausanne, followed by a brief stay in Slovenia before participating in the Mediterranean Games.
