Sarajevo Canton police to acquire three additional armored vehicles

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton has launched a public procurement process to acquire three additional special armored vehicles. The total value of the tender is 3.9 million KM, excluding VAT.

This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen police capacity. The Sarajevo police currently operate seven armored vehicles, with three more in the delivery phase. Once this latest procurement is completed, the force will have a total of 13 specialized vehicles.

Minister of Internal Affairs Admir Katica stated that over 70 million KM has been invested in equipping the Sarajevo Canton police. He emphasized that the vehicles serve as a deterrent and a means to protect the city against threats to law and order.

The armored vehicles are intended for various roles, including patrol, reconnaissance, command, and transport. They can carry up to ten specially equipped officers and are designed for rapid transport, forming barriers during crises, and responding to terrorist activities or major disturbances of public peace.
