Sarajevo shooting targets associate of Darko Elez

Davor Dabić, an associate of Darko Elez, was shot in the head during an attempted murder in Lukavica, Sarajevo. The attack occurred on August 3 in a parking area on Sime Milutinovića Sarajlije Street. Surveillance footage shows an assailant dressed in black following Dabić while he was walking his dog before firing the shots.

Dabić was treated at Serbia Hospital in East Sarajevo before being transferred to the University Clinical Center Sarajevo (KCUS), where he underwent neurosurgery. While his condition is reported as stable, heavy police presence remains at the hospital due to fears of a follow-up attack.

The shooting follows a violent escalation involving rival criminal groups. On August 2, Kosta Pandurević was wounded in East Sarajevo in a suspected attack by Đorđe Ždrale. Local authorities link these incidents to a long-standing conflict between the factions led by Elez and Ždrale, a rivalry that has spanned nearly two decades.
