Albanian police arrest three smugglers after intercepting 24 illegal migrants

Albanian police detained three suspects on the Librazhd‑Elbasan highway after two coordinated operations uncovered the illegal transport of 24 migrants from third‑country nationals seeking entry into the EU. The men – identified as Florjan Mustafa, Aleksandër Rira and Denis Çollaku – were caught in separate raids; one was moving 14 migrants, the other 10. Both vehicles used for the smuggling were seized.

The operations were carried out by the Traffic Investigation Section together with the Special Operational Force “Shqiponja”. The arrests were recorded by the Traffic Investigation Unit and forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for further legal action.
