Saratoga prepares for $1.25 million Travers Stakes

Preparations are underway for the 157th running of the $1.25 million DraftKings Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. Trainer Chad Brown has several contenders ready for the race, including Sea Strike and Emerging Market, both of whom completed morning breezes on Saturday.

Sea Strike, representing Flanagan Racing, recorded a four-furlong breeze in 48.70 seconds on the Saratoga main track. Emerging Market, representing Klaravich Stables, clocked 48.30 seconds over the Oklahoma training track. Other notable morning workers included Ways and Means and the Personal Ensign contender Fully Subscribed.

The Travers field features a competitive lineup of top three-year-old males, including Kentucky Derby finishers Golden Tempo, Renegade, and Ocelli. Historical data for the race suggests that successful contenders often maintain a forward position, with 75% of the last 16 winners positioned within 3.5 lengths of the lead after the opening half-mile.
