Sarawak government and Nigeria's NYSC launch youth startup grant programmes
The Sarawak state government in Malaysia announced a RM28 million package for young entrepreneurs, including a RM3 million annual grant and a RM25 million soft‑loan facility with Affin Bank. Minister Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the funding aims to help startups scale and overcome collateral challenges.
In Nigeria, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) awarded 25 corps members N500,000 each under the 2026 Youth Entrepreneurship and Empowerment Programme (YEEP). The grants, supported by Flutterwave and Activate Success International Foundation, are part of NYSC’s broader effort to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and job creation among young Nigerians.
