Sardinia leads Italy's 2026 most popular beach rankings

Travel booking platform Holidu analysed Google Maps data and user reviews to rank Italy's 30 most popular beaches for the 2026 summer season. The results show Sardinia dominating the list, with 20 Sardinian beaches placed within the top thirty. The five leading spots remain unchanged from the previous year, indicating consistent quality.

Among the highest‑rated sites are Rabbit Beach on Lampedusa, which holds a 4.9‑out‑of‑5 rating, and Cala Mariolu near Baunei in Sardinia, rated 4.8. The rankings also feature a mix of well‑known favourites and lesser‑known coastal gems across the Italian peninsula.

The findings highlight Sardinia’s strong appeal to beach‑goers and suggest that the island will attract a large share of tourists seeking premium seaside experiences this summer.
