Sardinia receives 30,000 applications for sports inclusion program

The Autonomous Region of Sardinia has received approximately 30,000 applications for its FAST (Fare Sport Tutti) regional program, which aims to use sports as a tool for social inclusion, health, and equality. The initiative, which has a total budget of over 12.5 million euros spanning three years, provides vouchers for free access to sporting activities.

Targeting minors, young people, and individuals at risk of social exclusion or economic vulnerability, the program seeks to promote psychological and physical well-being while combating educational poverty and isolation. Due to the high volume of requests, current funding for the year will only cover approximately 8,400 applications. Regional Sports Councilor Ilaria Portas stated that the department will request additional resources from the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+) to expand the number of beneficiaries.

A provisional list of eligible applicants will be published in the coming days, with the final ranking expected between October 10 and October 15.
