Sareb initiates evictions of families in La Riera de Gaià

The Spanish asset management company Sareb is moving to evict approximately 20 families from a residential area in La Riera de Gaià. The residents had previously rented their homes from a developer that subsequently went bankrupt, leading the properties to be transferred to a bank and eventually to Sareb.

While five families had secured affordable rental contracts, Sareb has refused to renew leases for the remaining fifteen residents, stating they did not meet the required criteria. A resolution from the Court of First Instance of El Vendrell scheduled the eviction of three houses, though the total number of affected families remains around twenty, including several vulnerable households with small children.
