Defensa y Justicia defeats Unión 2-0 in Argentine Torneo Clausura
In the Argentine Torneo Clausura, Defensa y Justicia secured a vital 2-0 away victory against Unión de Santa Fe. Goals from Juan Gutiérrez and César Pérez in quick succession late in the first half propelled the visitors to second place in Zona A, trailing only Instituto de Córdoba. Despite being reduced to ten men following Santiago Sosa's red card, Defensa y Justicia maintained their lead.
The loss marks Unión's fourth consecutive defeat, dropping them to tenth place and distancing them from the playoff positions. The result has intensified pressure on Unión's manager, Leonardo Madelón, who recently dismissed rumors of his resignation despite fan dissatisfaction.
In other match results, Sarmiento defeated Aldosivi 3-1 in Mar del Plata, a result that complicates Aldosivi's fight against relegation. Additionally, River Plate secured a victory against Estudiantes de Río Cuarto, highlighted by a goal from Marcos Acuña.
