Saskatchewan RCMP warns of text‑message traffic‑ticket scam
The Saskatchewan Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has received multiple reports of fraudulent text messages that claim the recipient owes an outstanding traffic citation and direct them to click a link to pay. The messages mimic communications from the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan and originate from a phone number using a “+21” area code.
Police advise the public not to respond, click any links, or send money or personal information. Recipients should block the number, keep a record of the texts and report the incident to their local RCMP detachment or the Canadian Anti‑Fraud Centre. The scam has been reported in the Carnduff and Indian Head areas and also in Saskatoon and Regina.
