SASSA announces September 2026 grant payment schedule

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has confirmed the staggered payment schedule for social grants in September 2026. Payments will be distributed over three days to manage beneficiary access.

The Older Persons Grant is scheduled for Wednesday, 2 September 2026. This will be followed by the Disability Grant on Thursday, 3 September 2026. Children’s Grants, which include the Child Support Grant and Foster Child Grant, are set for Friday, 4 September 2026.

Beneficiaries will continue to receive increased grant amounts established earlier this year. The Older Persons, Disability, and Care Dependency Grants are set at R2 400, while the War Veterans Grant is R2 420. The Foster Child Grant is R1 290, and the Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid are R580.
