Romanian and Moldovan police conduct raids, arrests and seizures in multiple crime cases

Police forces in Romania and Moldova carried out a series of operations targeting a range of criminal activity. In Moldova, carabinieri seized 41 packages of unknown substances and arrested two men in a drug‑trafficking bust. Romanian authorities in Dolj County detained four individuals wanted for theft, robbery and other offenses, while a separate investigation in Hunedoara uncovered a loan‑sharking and prostitution network, seizing 130,000 lei, gold jewellery and a vehicle. In Mangalia, two masked assailants robbed a casino employee of about 8,500 lei using motorcycle helmets as disguise. A 15‑year‑old in Satu Mare was sentenced to a six‑month educational measure after a series of burglaries, car theft, drunk driving and other thefts. Traffic‑related violations were also reported: a 19‑year‑old driver in Pitești received a 210‑day licence suspension for repeated speeding and unsafe overtaking, and a 21‑year‑old in Rovinari was detained for driving an unregistered car while his licence was suspended. Additionally, a police officer in Câmpina is under investigation for allegedly stealing 4,000 lei during a death‑investigation, and an off‑duty officer in Bacău helped apprehend a shop‑lifting suspect. These actions illustrate a broad crackdown on diverse offenses across the two countries.
