Saturday Mothers demand justice for Nadir Nayci

During their 1116th week of protest at Galatasaray Square, the Saturday Mothers called for justice regarding the disappearance of Nadir Nayci, a 65-year-old father of seven who went missing in Cizre in 1993.

According to the group, Nayci disappeared while traveling to deliver a horse to relatives in Aşağıçeşme village. His family believes he may have been detained in Kuştepe, an area reportedly used for executions by Hizbullah with JİTEM support during that period.

Family members stated that when Nayci's son, Ramazan Nayci, reported the disappearance to the then Cizre District Gendarmerie Commander, Captain Cemal Temizöz, the request for military assistance to search the area was denied. The commander reportedly told the son to search for his father himself and suggested he might have joined militant groups in the mountains.
