Saudi airstrikes hit Yemen telecom facilities, killing four

Saudi Arabian fighter jets conducted airstrikes targeting telecommunications facilities in Yemen’s northern Al-Jawf province, resulting in the deaths of four employees and several injuries.

Houthi-controlled Al-Masirah TV reported that the strikes hit telecommunications towers near the Saudi border. Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed that F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets, launched from Khamis Mushait and Taif airbases, also conducted strikes in the Taiz and Marib provinces. The Houthi group reported a total of 28 airstrikes within a 24-hour period.

These escalations occur amid intensified fighting between Houthi forces and the Saudi-backed Yemeni government. Recent Houthi advances include the seizure of the port city of Mocha and Mayun Island near the Bab al-Mandab Strait, prompting government forces to attempt to block further movement toward critical maritime routes.
