Saudi Arabia and Morocco issue weather warnings amid storms and heat
Saudi Arabia’s National Center for Meteorology warned of thunderstorm activity ranging from moderate to heavy rain, possible flash floods, and active winds across parts of Jazan, Asir, Al‑Baha and Mecca, with dust‑laden gusts also expected in Tabuk and Medina. Sea conditions in the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf will show increased wave heights and moderate to light seas.
Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology forecast hot temperatures for much of the kingdom on Saturday, with strong wind gusts in the south‑east and south‑east coastal areas. The outlook includes isolated light rain and fog along parts of the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, dust‑raising winds in the south‑east, and varying sea states from calm to moderate agitation along the Mediterranean and the Strait of Gibraltar.
