UAE launches second five-year retail T-Sukuk issuance
The UAE Ministry of Finance has announced the launch of a second five-year retail T-Sukuk issuance. This follows the inaugural offering, which saw demand of Dh445 million—nearly nine times the original Dh50 million target.
The Shariah-compliant instrument is fully backed by the UAE government and is designed to provide UAE nationals and residents with direct access to sovereign debt. To encourage financial inclusion, the program maintains a minimum subscription threshold of Dh1,000, allowing smaller retail investors to participate in transactions typically reserved for large institutions.
Investors can subscribe through several digital channels, including the Dubai Financial Market’s eIPO platform, the iVestor app, the DFM app, and various participating banks. Once settlement is complete, the sukuk will be listed on Nasdaq Dubai for secondary market trading. The profit rate for this new issuance is scheduled to be announced on September 22.
