Saudi Arabia hosts OT cybersecurity hackathon in Dhahran

The Centre of Excellence for Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity hosted a four-day hackathon in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, from August 24 to 27, 2026. Organized in collaboration with Saudi Aramco and the Global Cybersecurity Forum, the event took place at Dhahran Techno Valley.

Approximately 40 teams, including researchers, students, and cybersecurity specialists, participated to address practical security challenges facing operational technology systems. The hackathon focused on protecting vital industries such as water, power, electricity, and oil and gas to ensure the continuity of essential services and strategic supply chains.
