Saudi Arabia initiates real estate registration in Makkah and land grants in Jeddah

The Real Estate General Authority has announced the commencement of in-kind real estate registration for a specific area in the Makkah region. Starting September 13, 2026, and continuing until December 17, 2026, the registration process will target part of the Rei' Dhakhir neighborhood. Property owners in this area can register through the electronic Real Estate Registry platform or via service centers, provided they possess a valid ownership deed. Failure to register within the specified period may result in financial fines.

In a separate housing initiative, the Ministry of Housing’s Sakani program continues to facilitate access to free land in various Saudi provinces, including Jeddah. Eligible applicants can apply through the Sakani website by logging in with their national ID and following the designated steps to verify eligibility for land grants.
