Saudi Arabia Joins Global Alliance for Two-State Solution Summit in Rome

Saudi Arabia participated as co‑chair at the 10th summit of the Global Alliance for a Two‑State Solution held in Rome, Italy, alongside Norway and the European Union. The Saudi delegation was led by Dr. Manal bint Hassan Ridwan, chief negotiator for the foreign ministry. In her remarks she cited the New York Declaration, United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 and the Trump peace plan as the political framework for achieving a lasting peace, warning that a widening gap between international efforts and the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories – including the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, settlement expansion, settler violence and unilateral actions in the West Bank – hampers any path to stability.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani and Saudi Prince Faisal bin Farhan issued a joint statement praising the summit’s outcomes, reaffirming support for the implementation of UNSC Resolution 2803 and the comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict. They called for an immediate cease‑fire, unhindered humanitarian aid, protection of Palestinian civilians and opposed any form of annexation or forced displacement in the West Bank, underscoring continued cooperation with the United States, Italy and other alliance members.
