Saudi Arabia launches 2026 International Falcon Production Auction in Malham

The National Falcon Center in Malham, north of Riyadh, opened the International Falcon Production Farm Auction for 2026 on August 5, running through August 25. The 21‑day event is the centre’s first activity after its new structure was approved by the Saudi Council of Ministers, aiming to protect falcons as cultural heritage and to support the broader falcon‑related sector.

The auction gathers local and international falcon farms, buyers and equipment vendors in a dedicated market. Live television and social‑media streams broadcast the bidding, while a digital platform enables real‑time competitive offers. CEO Talal bin Abdulaziz Al‑Shamisi said the auction is the largest gathering of its kind worldwide, noting that the 2025 edition attracted 67 farms from 23 countries, generated sales exceeding 13 million riyals, and saw 1,103 falcons sold – a 23 % rise in revenue and a 27 % increase in birds sold compared with 2024. A new feature links all chick‑category stages to the centre’s falcon‑competition circuit, giving participants direct access to competition‑ready birds.

The event seeks to expand farm participation, enhance buyer options, and foster knowledge exchange through workshops and partnerships, reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role in the global falconry community.
