Saudi Arabia to host UNESCO World Forum on AI Ethics in 2026

Saudi Arabia is positioning itself as a global leader in artificial intelligence through strategic investments and international cooperation. A key milestone in this effort is the announcement that the Kingdom will host the fourth edition of the UNESCO World Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence in Riyadh in 2026.

Minister of Culture Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan stated that hosting this forum demonstrates Saudi Arabia’s progress in international dialogue regarding emerging technologies. The event is supported by a collaboration between the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), UNESCO, and the International Centre for Research and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (ICAIRE). The forum aims to bring together policymakers, experts, and researchers to address critical challenges such as algorithmic transparency, data protection, and the responsible use of AI in sectors like healthcare, education, and finance.

This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030, seeking to build a diverse knowledge-based economy and establish the Kingdom as a central hub for global discussions on data and technological governance.
