Saudi Arabia oil exports fall to zero amid Middle East conflict

Saudi Arabian oil exports have reportedly fallen to zero following a significant escalation of conflict in the Middle East. The cessation of exports is attributed to the shutdown of Persian Gulf terminals due to war with Iran and the destruction of the East-West Pipeline.

The East-West Pipeline, a critical land route transporting 4 to 5 million barrels per day to the Yanbu terminal on the Red Sea, was reportedly struck at nine different locations by drones originating from Iraq. This disruption marks the first time in history that Saudi oil has been unable to reach international markets.

While the situation has prompted calls for immediate action, responses from U.S. leadership have been characterized as insufficient or uncertain regarding the intentions of regional actors like the Houthis.
