Saudi Arabia prepares to host 11th World Water Forum in Riyadh

Saudi Arabia is preparing to host the 11th World Water Forum in Riyadh, scheduled to take place from March 21 to 25, 2027. Under the theme ‘Working for a Better Tomorrow,’ the event aims to transform global water commitments into practical, applicable solutions.

To coordinate the event, the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has formed a joint committee with the World Water Council. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaibani, the Ministry's Deputy Minister for Water, led a delegation to meetings in Marseille, France, to discuss preparations and align on the forum's priorities and initiatives. During these sessions, the delegation also participated in the 94th meeting of the World Water Council Board of Trustees.

In recognition of the vital importance of water resources for sustainable development, Saudi Arabia has designated 2027 as the ‘Year of Water.’ The Kingdom aims to use the forum to expand international participation, exchange expertise, and address global water challenges through enhanced partnerships and innovation.
