Saudi Arabia to host 2034 FIFA World Cup

Saudi Arabia has been selected to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which will feature 48 participating teams and 104 matches. The tournament is planned to utilize 15 stadiums across five cities: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and Neom. A major stadium in Riyadh with a capacity of 92,000 spectators is slated to host both the opening match and the final.

While the hosting rights are confirmed, the official dates for the tournament have not yet been determined by FIFA. Decision-makers must consider several logistical factors, including extreme summer temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius and the timing of Ramadan, which is expected to fall between November 12 and December 11, 2034. Reports suggest potential windows in late 2034 or early 2035.
