Saudi-led coalition intercepts Houthi missiles and drones

The Saudi-led coalition has reported a significant escalation in Houthi-led attacks against Saudi Arabian territory, involving missiles and drones. Coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki confirmed the interception of multiple projectiles, including cruise missiles over the Madinah region and drones in the Eastern Province.

Recent strikes have targeted critical infrastructure and civil aviation. Since early October, Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh have reportedly caused 17 deaths and 333 injuries. The instability has impacted commercial aviation, leading Lufthansa to suspend flights to Riyadh until October 16, while other carriers like Air India and IndiGo have also adjusted operations.

In response to the heightened threat, the French Embassy has advised citizens to avoid travel to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, specifically noting major airports. While the coalition continues to intercept incoming threats, including a ballistic missile targeting the port of Yanbu, Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree has denied responsibility for recent attacks against Saudi Arabia, labeling the claims as false.
