Saudi politician identifies key Yemeni parties for state restoration

Saudi politician Ali Al-Arishi has identified the General People's Congress and the Al-Islah Party as the primary political pillars necessary for the battle to restore the Yemeni state.

In a statement on X, Al-Arishi argued that the Houthi militia has targeted both parties as part of a broader project to weaken republican forces and dismantle state institutions. He noted that the General People's Congress, described as Yemen's largest political party, has faced Houthi conspiracies resulting in the assassination of key leaders, including Ali Abdullah Saleh and Arif Al-Zouka.

Al-Islah, the second most popular party, has also faced military targeting and the seizure of its headquarters and properties by the Houthi group. Al-Arishi emphasized that restoring the republic requires rebuilding and unifying these republican political forces and addressing internal leadership disputes, asserting that the central battle remains the overthrow of the Houthi coup and the return to Sana'a.
