Saudi STEM Racing participants achieve global recognition
Participants in the Saudi STEM Racing program, hosted by Aramco’s Ithra center, have achieved significant international recognition in science and leadership.
Imran Al-Turkistani, after placing third in the Saudi national competition, represented the Kingdom in Singapore and subsequently qualified for the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) for two consecutive years. His research in energy and environmental engineering earned him fourth place globally in energy and second place globally in environmental engineering. His projects include a system to produce green hydrogen directly from seawater and a solar-powered desalination method that requires no external electricity, the latter of which has received international patent acceptance.
Jinan Kamal utilized the program to develop expertise in project management and leadership. After three years of participation, she was awarded the prize for best project management application globally among 86 participating countries at the 2025 finals. Her experience included managing team resources, risk, and decision-making, skills she continued to refine while pursuing studies in the United States.
