Savan 1 wind farm to deliver 35 TWh and $2.4 bn revenue over 25 years

The Savan 1 wind farm, built by T&T Group on the Laos‑Vietnam border, was constructed in just 16 months and began commercial operation in August. Phase 1 has a capacity of 300 MW, producing about 0.9 billion kWh per year, while the second phase, slated for completion in Q4 2027, will raise total capacity to 495 MW and annual generation to roughly 1.4 billion kWh. Over its 25‑year concession, the project is expected to generate around 35 billion kWh – equivalent to about 40 days of Vietnam’s total electricity consumption in 2025 – and to earn roughly $2.43 billion in revenue.

Electricity is transmitted via a dedicated 220 kV line that crosses the border into Vietnam’s grid, where it will represent about 0.43 % of national generation. After seven months of commercial operation, Savan 1 has already recorded about $36.5 million in revenue, with projected annual earnings of $62.5 million in phase 1 and up to $97.3 million once the full project is online.
