Nancy Guthrie disappearance: Investigation continues into Tucson abduction

The investigation into the disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of ‘Today’ co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, continues as authorities treat the case as a suspected abduction from her Tucson, Arizona, home. Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 and reported missing the following day.

Federal investigators are examining digital evidence, including surveillance footage that reportedly shows an armed individual tampering with a front door camera. There have also been reports of technical disruptions and a possible internet outage on the night of the disappearance. While a former FBI agent has suggested that evidence such as blood found at the scene and unconsumed medication indicates Nancy may no longer be alive, the case remains officially classified as an active missing-person investigation.

Savannah Guthrie has renewed her public plea for information, stating her family’s desire to give her mother a ‘proper goodbye.’ The appeal follows an emotional tribute from actress Allison Janney at the Emmys. The FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Office are urging anyone with information to come forward.
