Globo and CazéTV lock down broadcast rights for Brazil's 2027 Women’s World Cup

Globo and CazéTV are set to share full television coverage of the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which will be hosted in Brazil. Globo will broadcast 56 matches on open TV, while its subscription arm SporTV will air all 64 games. CazéTV, operating through the YouTube platform, will retain exclusivity for streaming the tournament’s matches online, meaning Globo’s GE TV will not be permitted on YouTube. The arrangement mirrors the 2026 men’s World Cup, when CazéTV secured the rights to all fixtures and Globo obtained a partial package. Both companies are preparing promotional campaigns, with Globo launching a countdown and a documentary on Marta, and CazéTV positioning itself as the sole digital home for the event. The competition over rights reflects a broader shift in Brazilian sports broadcasting, as traditional broadcasters and new‑media channels vie for audience share ahead of the tournament’s schedule across eight Brazilian cities from 24 June to 25 July 2027.
