SBT interrupts telenovela broadcasts for news and sports

The Brazilian television network SBT has experienced several programming disruptions for the Mexican telenovela ‘O Que a Vida Me Roubou’. The show has been pulled from its afternoon slot on five occasions due to various factors, including coverage of the UEFA Champions League and breaking news.

One recent cancellation occurred on Tuesday (22) to accommodate extended coverage of a fatal helicopter crash in Santa Catarina. The accident, which occurred in the Urubici region, resulted in the deaths of five people, including the singer Rick, known for his duo with Renner. Other victims included businessman Bruno Avelar, videomaker Paulo Soares, and the flight crew, Antônio Roberto Nóbrega de Araújo and Leopoldo Barros Teixeira.

The Bell 430 helicopter departed from Porto Belo on Monday (21) destined for São Joaquim but failed to arrive. Debris was located in a difficult-to-access area following reports of heavy storms in the region.
